When you don’t have an avocado handy but you want some dip for chips or a spread for wraps this is a super quick, FRUGAL, recipe! I’m not going to lie and say it tastes exactly like guac but it has its own unique properties.

Equipment

  • Blender (or food processor)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Frozen Green Peas (defrost under running cold water)
  • 2 tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1/4 cup Lime Juice
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/2 tbsp Red Pepper Flakes optional
  • 1 Medium Tomato Chopped
  • 1/2 Red Onion Chopped
  • 1/2 cup Cilantro Chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Hot Sauce Texas Pete Recommended
  • Sea Salt & Black Pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Blend the peas, garlic, lime juice, red pepper flakes, and cumin in a blender or food processor until smooth
  • Transfer to a bowl and fold in the tomato, green onion, cilantro, and hot sauce
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
  • Cover with a ModFamily Stretch Lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.

Notes

Keeps for 4-5 Days.
